"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
~ Genesis 1:3
Thank you for visiting my website!
I've had a lifelong love of photography and began taking pictures at the age of 12. I learned to develop B&W film in a junior high photography club and studied French, art, and photography at the University of Kansas.
While raising my two children in Lawrence I set up a portable darkroom in our apartment and was an active member in the Lawrence Photo Alliance, participating in group shows - Kansas KC Camera, Art in the Park, and Lawrence ArtWalk. I have also shown work in Baldwin City, Lawrence, and Kansas City, and in regional juried exhibits - the Hays Five State Competition, Art in the Woods, and the Second Kansas Triennial. I began making photo note cards in 1998, selling them at Art in the Park, the Palace Card and Gift Shop, the Raven Bookstore, and the Bay Leaf in downtown Lawrence.
I lived in Kansas City from 2004 through 2012, and my cards were sold at Bergamot and Ivy, Trapp and Company, and Crestwood Flowers. I also studied digital imaging and film history at UMKC before moving to Topeka with my husband. I began working on my first Driving in Kansas wall calendar in 2019, and as a Kansas photographer some of my favorite subjects are flowers, nature, Kansas skies, and abstract patterns of light and shadow.
I'm grateful for the gifts of life, sight, and wonder, and for my family, friends, professors, and fellow photographers who have encouraged my love of photography all these years.
